Don't waste your time on small "jackpot" machines like $2.5K san diego opera or $4K because they don't pay any better than the $10K or $15K. It seems like when there are jackpots, they're san diego opera all within a couple hours, then they stop. In my opinion Pala is a huge rip off in the slots department. (Harrah's is also.) As for the other amenities, the buffet is way over priced unless you weigh 500 lbs. and can eat 40 lbs. of blah san diego opera food. The dance floor is tiny — whoever said it was huge wasn't at Pala. The cafe and deli offer reasonable values. The hotel is nice, but way over priced as there isn't anything to do except gamble. This is not Las Vegas! My suggestion: If you have some money to drop, go to Vegas where you can see good (inexpensive) shows on a nightly basis (not one per month), walk to hundreds of casinos, ride in a gondola, a roller coaster or take in Cirque de Solei. |

But, alas, I'm always wrong. Yesterday, I spent seven hours there playing mostly $5.00 slots (some $1.00). One woman hit $1,500.00 after putting in $3,000.00. It was the only "jackpot" in the whole casino in seven hours as I was constantly theaterspechanga casino looking for flashing lights on top of the machines, indicating a jackpot. I've discovered one thing that I'm sure is true — when you walk in and don't see anyone in line at the cashier's cages, turn around and leave and try another time because you're not going to win. |
